   Business Law Question

- What makes an "LLC" company different from an "Inc." corporation?
An “Inc.” corporation is treated as a separate taxable entity from its owners in the reporting of business income and expenses.  An "LLC" (limited liability company) with one member, however, may be treated as a disregarded entity, so that the company may not be required to separately file income tax returns if the business income and expenses are reported, like a sole proprietorship, on the individual owner’s tax returns.  A limited liability company with multiple members is typically treated as a partnership for tax purposes.
